Abstract
984,559. Aeriels. TEWEA TECHNISCH WETENSCHAPPELIJKE APPARATENFABRIEK. N.V. July 29, 1963 [Sept. 19, 1962], No. 30028/63. Heading H4A. A logarithmic periodic aerial comprising two parallel plates 1, 2, each comprising a series of truncated triangular teeth 4, 5, whose length and spacing converge in a linear relationship along the axis of the aerial, is characterized by the angle between the non-parallel sides of the teeth being equal to that between the lines bounding the tips of the teeth. As described, the base width of each tooth equals the geometric mean of its distances from its adjacent fellows, and in each plate the teeth extend from a central beam limited by lines intersecting with those bounding the tips of the teeth. Each plate is connected by means of a watertight terminal box 9 to one conductor of a feeder and the plates are separated from each other, and from a mounting post 7, by means of insulating spacers 6. An embodiment of the aerial is stated to be suitable for television reception in Bands IV and V (470 to 790 Mc/s.).
