[Also in Division B8] A liquid transfer device comprises an elongated handle having at one end thereof a hollow liquid-entrapping body with a plurality of capillary spaces providing access to the interior of the body such that when the body is inserted into a liquid and withdrawn, a volume of liquid is retained within the body by capillary action. As shown in Fig. 3, the body comprises a pair of wires 7, 7a supported in a handle 9 and wound to form an inner volume supporting, a volume, e.g. 0À025-0À1 ml., of liquid. The handle is so tapered that a plurality of the devices can be used together as shown in Fig. 4. Alternatively to the wound wires, several small plates or spherical or cylindrical bodies having capillary spaces may be employed.
