Abstract

984,188. Burners. ROBERTSHAW CONTROLS CO. April 18, 1963 [April 24, 1962], No. 15358/63. Heading F4F. A bracket for supporting a pilot burner hood 26 and a thermocouple 24 comprises two parallel arms 12, 14 having aligned elongated openings for the thermocouple and a single opening in the upper arm 12 for the pilot burner. The thermocouple is held by a tubular spring clip disposed in either of the elongated openings which engages a groove 36 in the thermocouple and has spring fingers engaging the plate 12 or 14. A collar 30 is screwed on to the lower end of the pilot burner tube to secure the latter to the plate 12. The bracket also comprises a mounting plate 10 and a supplementary apertured bracket 32 which may comprise two parallel plates joined by a transverse plate, Fig. 6 (not shown). The single opening has recesses formed in the wall thereof in which a projection on the pilot burner hood 26 is received.
