The radiation detector circuit of the parent Specification is modified in that the resistance 2 across which pulses from the counter tube 1 are developed is tappable at points selectable by a switch 3. The size of pulses applied to a subsequent amplifier is thereby adjustable, the size being chosen to provide an unambiguous dose rate indication for the range of dose rates to be measured.
