Abstract

A projecting device for projecting a pattern produced by an LCD 73 of a notebook computer set 7 to a screen 9 includes a housing 2, a light beam source 3, a lens-supporting arm 4 and a projection lens unit 5. The housing 2 has a transparent panel 21 that is adapted to mount the LCD 73. The light beam source 3 is mounted inside the housing 2. The lens-supporting arm 4 extends from the housing 2 away from the panel 21 in the direction of the light beam. The projection lens unit 5 is mounted on the lens-supporting arm 4 and is disposed across a straight line which extends between the panel 21 to the screen 9. The projection lens unit 5 includes a lens assembly (51, Fig 8) for producing an image from the light beam, and a light-transmissive image rotating unit (52, Fig 8) for rotating the image by a predetermined angle. The device may have support rods (8, 8', Fig 7) to allow tilting. Heat dissapating devices (6, 31, Fig 2) may be used.
