Abstract

An information retrieval and dissemination system comprises a plurality of user-interfaces including visual display means and information entry means, linked together via a common data processing means, the data processing means being controllable to facilitate transmission of data from one interface to one or a series of interfaces at the choice of a user. The visual display and data entry means may comprise one or more touch sensitive L.C.D. devices, and the data processing means may be adapted to display at each visual display means a graphical display. The system may include a connection with the public telecommunications network. The invention also provides a method for providing an information retrieval and dissemination system, comprising the steps of providing a plurality of user-interfaces including visual display means and information entry means linking the user-interfaces together for communication therebetween and with a common data processing means, and arranging the data processing means to be controllable to facilitate transmission of data from one interface to one or a series of interfaces at the choice of a user.
