Abstract

980,191. Counters. COUNTING INSTRUMENTS Ltd. March 28, 1961 [Dec. 29, 1959], No. 44052/59. Heading G4D. Electric impulses representing flow into and flow out of a fuel tank can be applied simultaneously to a counter which indicates the contents of the tank. The impulses are fed to like solenoids such as 24, to drive opposite sides of a differential gear 30, whereby addition or subtraction is made. Zeroising or resetting to a desired indication is effected through an addition or subtraction button 18. When a button 18 is depressed fully pulses are fed at a high rate to the appropriate solenoid to advance or reverse the counter quickly. Final adjustment is made with the button in the half-way position when the pulses are produced slowly.
