Abstract

Wrapped packages are advanced intermittently by pressure from succeeding packages along a plate past fixed heater blocks B and C against which they are pressed by spring- loaded plungers 11, carried on reciprocable members D and E, in order to heat-seal the package ends. The plunger heads may be circular, hexagonal, Fig. 4 (not shown), or square, Fig. 5 (not shown). The packages may be of varying length.
