In pot-spinning, the tendency of the yarn to acquire false twist when leaving the funnel 6 is obviated either by rotating the funnel or its bottom part at the same angular speed as the pot or by providing the outlet of the funnel with a rim 8 of polymeric material consisting wholly or partly of a polymer of a fluorine-containing ethene derivative e.g. polytetrafluorethylene. The funnel or part thereof may be rotated by separate driving means or the bottom part may be freely rotatable such that it is caused to rotate by the yarn passing over it. The funnel is carried by a bush 3 rotated by a belt 5.
