Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:0979390/C1/1> where R1-R4 are C1-4 alkyl radicals, and their production by reacting <FORM:0979390/C1/2> with <FORM:0979390/C1/3> where M is hydrogen or an alkali metal. An example prepares the compound <FORM:0979390/C1/4> and other starting materials are given. The compounds are insecticides (see Division A5).ALSO:Insecticidal compositions comprise an inert carrier and a compound of formula <FORM:0979390/A5-A6/1> where R1-R4 are C1-4 alkyl radicals (see Division C2). The formulation may be an emulsion suspension, dust or oil preparation. Emulsions are obtained from a solution of active ingredient in an organic solvent, such as bznzene or xylene, and a non-ionic surface-active agent. Wettable powders or dusts contain as carrier talc, kaolin, bentonite, diatomaceous earth or clay. Organic solutions may be used, e.g. in acetone, or in kerosene together with a co-solvent such as benzene, xylene or methylnaphthalene. Other insecticides, fungicides and herbicides may also be present.
