Abstract

979,127. Control of motors. ARENCO ELECTRONICS A.B. Sept. 16, 1963 [Sept. 28, 1962], No. 36385/63. Heading H2J. [Also in Division.G3] A motor driving a lead-screw for a co-ordinate table, under the control of a programmed control system (see Division G3), is arranged to automatically run for a short period in reverse after being braked to a standstill in order to correct for overshoot due to the inertia of the motor and co-ordinate table. As shown, the motor 6 is braked by a relay 16 opening a switch ab, to isolate a forward movement field winding 15, and closing a switch ef to apply the output of a tachogenerator 14 to an integrating device 19. When the integrated output of device 19 is a maximum the motor 6 is stopped. The device 19 then energizes a relay 18 to close a switch cd to energize a reverse movement field winding 17. The output of the tachogenerator causes the output of the integrating device 19 to slowly fall to zero at which the relay 18 is de-energized to open switch cd to stop the motor at the desired position.
