Abstract

978,796. Aplicator pads; mops; rollholders. CIMEX Ltd. Nov. 28, 1963 [Dec. 21, 1962], No. 48398/62. Headings A4F, A4G and A4K. In a mop having a renewable wiping surface, the surface is renewed by replacing a portion of a web 24 which extends over a moistened pad 12. The web of absorbent paper may be wound from a roll 23 by means of hand wheel 29 which drives rubber-faced feed roller 28 and backing roller 29 and, when the replacement is complete, the soiled section may be torn off against cutting edge 30. Valve 13 is operated, by slide rod 18, to control the amount of liquid flowing into resilient foam plastic sponge 12 through feed channels 14. In anothr form, absorbent paper or towelling is wound between two rolls carried on the mop head and cleaning liquid is carried in a hollow handle. A known form of ratchet or friction brake for preventing unwanted unwinding of material from the rolls, is referred to. Specification 741,820 is referred to.
