[Also in Division E2] A member a has an aperture b receiving a member c such as a rod and clamped thereto by a floating ring e which is displaced out of alignment with the aperture by a screw. As shown in Fig. 1, a ring e is mounted in arecess d of the member a and is displaced by a grub screw g. In a modification the ring e is housed in a recess which extends to the surface of the member a. A single member a may have two or more rings e to grip a similar number of members to be held.
