Abstract

978,133. Shaft couplings. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Nov. 7, 1962 [Dec. 6, 1961], No. 43719/61. Heading F2U. An Oldham coupling which permits circumferential adjustment between axially misaligned control shafts of electronic apparatus comprises a coupling disc 21 having on each face 21a, 21b a pair of diametrically aligned radial projections 23, 25, the projections 23 which are perpendicular to the projections 25 engage one of a number of pairs of slats 7 in a disc 5 fast with the shaft 1 whilst the projections 25 engage one of a number of pairs of slats in a disc 15 fast with the shaft 3, the number of pairs of slats 7 in the disc 5 differing from the number of pairs of slats 17 in the disc 15 to permit circumferential adjustment. The discs 5, 15 are provided with central recesses 5D, 15D. Axial play between the discs 5, 15, 21 permits slight universal movement.
