Abstract
977,121. Sampling quality control data. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Jan. 23, 1961 [Oct. 22, 1959; Nov. 18, 1959], Nos. 35810/59 and 39191/59. Heading G4D. An estimation is made of the quality of a batch of manufactured articles by operating an accept or a reject button as each article is tested, the related accept and reject counters being interconnected so that, depending on the relative proportions of the two numbers as indicated in the graph of Fig. 1, an accept or a reject lamp will light. The apparatus comprises three uniselectors 10-12. Uniselectors 10, 11 count the operations of accept button 13,transfer from 10 to 11 taking place at the 20th operation. Uniselector 12 counts the operations of reject button 14, while count register 21 indicates the total count. Sockets of programme selector 16, Fig. 3, are plugged in such a manner that if the relationship of accept/reject operations enters the shaded "accept" area of Fig. 1 a green accept lamp 20 lights up, while if the relationship enters the shaded "reject" area then a red reject lamp 19 lights up. Operation of reset button 15 restores uniselector 12,11,10 sequentially in audible manner.
