Abstract
976,257. Rigid filters; media. A. KNECHT. Aug. 3, 1962 [Jan. 16, 1962], No. 29843/62. Heading B1D. Fibres are dusted with a powdery polymerizable adhesive, and mixed, and the mixture is pressed in a mould and heated to polymerize the adhesive ; in consequence the fibres have adhesive connections only at their points of intersection. The mould may consist of an inner perforate cylinder 4, an outer pre-filtering jacket 5 and optionally a cover disc 6 or 7. The filter body may be removed after cooling or may remain to form a unit with the mould parts as shown. Alternatively the body may be formed as a long tubular structure from which filter elements of appropriate length are cut.
