A process of gas chromatography comprises feeding a carrier into the upper end of an annular space containing a plurality of separate vertical passages filled with stationary phase and having a continuous rotary motion about the axis of the annular space, feeding mixture into the said upper end of the annular space at one point and collecting the separated components at spaced intervals of time at a plurality of collecting vessels which are spaced in a circle centred on the axis at the lower end of the annular space. The theory of the process is illustrated with a diagram (not shown) and a practical form of the apparatus is illustrated and claimed.
