Abstract

973,165. Moulding reinforced polyester resin lamp standards. POLYPRESS. N.V. Oct. 10, 1961 [Oct. 18, 1960], No. 36277/61. Drawings to Specification. Heading B5A. [Also in Division E1] A lamp standard (see Division E1) is moulded from polyester resin reinforced with glass fibre by pouring liquid polyester resin into mould parts, which each correspond in length to the desired article and collectively define its shape, placing glass fibre mats into the mould parts so that they extend over flanges of the mould parts; pouring polyester resin on to the glass fibre mats, allowing the material to gell, then placing the mould parts together and clamping the adjacent flanges together to allow the segments to bond together and removing the mould parts. The mould parts while being produced from a synthetic plastic material, are placed together loosely to form a tube the shape of the lamp standard, and before hardening one end is twisted around its longitudinal axis to form a spiral part.
