An aid for the construction of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic or chemical diagrams comprises a protective carrier tape 11, having mounted thereon a plurality of adhesive elements 10, each comprising a short length of transparent or opaque pressure sensitive tape having pointed thereon, on the opposite side to the adhesive a graphical symbol representing a resistor, rectifier or other mechanical, hydraulic or chemical plant component, The method comprises separating one element 10 at a time and sticking it on to a backing sheet at appropriate positions and drawing connecting lines and references to complete the circuit or flow diagram. The Provisional Specification also describes a second embodiment wherein the graphic symbols may be printed on a continuous pressure sensitive adhesive tape backed up on the adhesive side by a protective tape.
