Abstract
971,602. Automatic telephone exchange systems. AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE & ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. April 8, 1963 [May 18, 1962], No. 19174/62. Heading H4K. In an exchange, particularly one of the so called self-steering kind described in Specification 890,235, the line circuit SLC of each subscriber who is given an incoming call diversion facility is associated at the IDF with an individual relay group SRG which stores the number of the line to which calls are to be diverted. To establish the diversion condition, the subscriber dials from any substation, not necessarily one connected to the same exchange, first a code to obtain access over AP to a dialling-in group DRG and then a secret code to connect to the appropriate relay group SRG. He then dials the number of the diversion line which normally comprises seven digits and is repeated to a store DNS. Relay DS energizes and DRG is released when the caller clears. When an incoming call to the line circuit SLC is marked over MKR, relay TM energizes and a marking over MP controls the connection to SLC which is further extended over a feedbridge TB, the ringing being tripped, to an ex-directory line circuit XSLC. A fresh call is thus originated and is set up under the control of a common sender SDR which receives the digits denoting the diversion line from DNS. Relay TM releases when the call is cleared. To remove the diversion condition the subscriber dials the codes mentioned above to connect to SRG, and a cancel signal is applied to the store DNS, relay DS being released. Specification 890,235 is referred to.
