Abstract

970,406. Continuous conveyer ovens. C. F. TAYLOR (UNITY DESIGNS) Ltd. Sept. 26, 1962 [July 21, 1961; Sept. 26, 1961], Nos. 1511/64 and 1512/64. Divided out of 970,404. Heading F4B. A continuous oven for applying heat to goods 50 wrapped in a film of heat shrinkable and heat sealable character, comprises a tunnel 111 with electric heating elements in ducting 124 defining a closed path for circulating air, and an endless conveyer 105 with chain and sprocket gearing 106, 107, 108 driven by a motor 109, the rollers 105<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 4, engaging longitudinal bars 105<SP>2</SP> by which they are rotated so that the goods are carried by the conveyer and also fed along the conveyer by the rollers. The circulating air impelled through the ducting 124 by a fan driven by a motor 122 enters the tunnel through ports disposed at such a level that it plays on the sealed ends of the wrappers as indicated by arrows in Fig. 4. The oven is associated with apparatus for wrapping and sealing the goods as disclosed in Specifications 970,404 and 970,405 [Division B8].
