Abstract

970,029. Electromagnetic switches. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. May 24, 1963 [May 26, 1962], No. 20845/63. Heading H2B. A magnetic reed 1 contact for a sealed magnetic contact device, for use in an A.C. relay, is bifurcated and a short-circuiting ring or sleeve 5 is mounted on one limb 4 thereof. The slot 2 may be at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the reed and the sleeve 5 may be of folded sheet welded to the other limb 3 or spread after assembly to engage the other limb or electrodeposited on limb 4 and partly on limb 3 (Figs. 3 to 5, not shown).
