Abstract

968,597. Spool holders. A. MAURER. Jan. 10, 1961, No. 1010/61. Heading D1J. A spindle 1 on which a spool core 13 can be centred has rolling bodies 9 housed between sleeves 4, 6, on the spindle, the opposed faces of the sleeves 4, 6 having a taper 7, 8 such that the bodies 9 are urged outwardly against the spool core 13 by spring means 10 between the sleeves 6. The sleeves 4, 6 have lips 11, 12 that prevent the bodies 9 from escaping. Axially extending guide pins 16, mounted with their free ends in bores formed in the sleeves 4, 6 prevent the bodies 9 from being displaced circumferentially. The rolling bodies 9 may be balls, cylindrical rollers, or barrel shaped rollers.
