Abstract

968,437. Mooring devices. E. A. SALO. March 15, 1963, No. 10330/63. Heading B7S. A device for mooring buoys &c. comprises a chain 3 and resilient means 6 embracing the chain. As shown, the resilient means comprises a sleeve of rubber tubing having an inside diameter greater than the outside diameter of the chain. A perforated plate 7 welded in one of the links adjacent the end of sleeve 6 is enclosed by a rubber block 8. The end of sleeve 6 is then vulcanized to the outer surface of block 8. A lubricating and oxidation inhibiting fluid may be employed in the sleeve.
