967,701. Moulding conveyer belts. FRANZ CLOUTH RHEINISCHE GUMMIWARENFABRIK A.G. Jan. 18, 1962 [Feb. 3, 1961], No. 1819/62. Addition to 954,656. Heading B5A. Conveyer belts, which are reinforced with steel cords, are formed by unwinding lengths of the steel cords stage by stage, tensioning them individually in a parallel array and uniting them in the tensioned state by means of an elastomeric material, which is vulcanized on them by passing them under tension through a stationary press 11. The apparatus is similar to that used in the parent Specification but the press 11 is stationary and the clamps 4, 5, 7, 12, 13 are moved while being held apart by a cable 17 running over pulleys 15, 16. The press 10 may also be stationary.
