966,557. Flashguns. LOEWE OPTA A.G. Feb. 23, 1961 [Feb. 27, 1960], No. 6592/61. Heading G2A. A photographic flash gun, more particularly for electronic flash, is characterized in that both its cover plate 4 and the back of the housing are provided with openings 6, 7 in which are visible means indicating that the gun is ready for use, e.g. a signal glow lamp. As shown the opening 6, 7 are formed in the hinged top cover 3 which is also apertured at 5 to provide for illuminated adjustment scales indicating focused distance aperture. With the flash gun and camera secured to a common rail 11 it is possible simultaneously to read from above the camera scales and to observe the windows in the flashgun, the scales in window 5 being illuminated when the flashgun is ready for use.
