For securement in an aperture 39 in the wooden &c. edge 35 of an aircraft honeycomb core panel, an anchor-nut has four fingers in two pairs 20, 22 (20a &c. in Fig. 5, 20b &c. in Fig. 6), the fingers of each pair being diametrically opposed and extending downwards from the nut body and inwards so as to underlie the nut bore as indicated in the modification shown in Fig. 5 or that shown in Fig. 6. The fingers extend from between tabs 18 which rest on the top of the panel adjacent the edge of the aperture 39. In the first modification, Fig. 5, the tabs 18a are large and each extends in an L- form, the edge 46 of the extreme limb 44 being bent down to form a triangular tooth for driving into the panel surface. In the second modification, Fig. 6, each finger 20b, 22b has a triangular flange 52 at one edge. The fingers 20, 20a, 20b are longer than the fingers 22, 22a, 22b and the longer fingers are bent further inwards as indicated in Fig. 5 so that the pointed extremities of the fingers lie initially in one plane as shown in Fig. 6. After insertion in the aperture 39, a cylindrical tool is pushed into the nut or the screw is driven home and the ends of the fingers are driven into the wood &c. 35, the points of the longer fingers 20, 20a, 20b penetrating, as shown in Fig. 1, at lower levels than do the shorter fingers 22, 22a, 22b.
