Abstract

Impact resistant polymers are made by mixing polymethyl methacrylate with 10 to 35% of the total mixture of a methyl methacrylate/diene copolymer which contains up to 35% of diene and has at least 90% monomer conversion. The polymethyl methacrylate used may contain up to 10% of other constituents, such as comonomers, e.g. methyl acrylate, and plasticizers. The examples describe blending at elevated temperatures mixtures of polymethyl methacrylate and methyl methacrylate/butadiene copolymers.
