A getter device, e.g. for maintaining the vacuum of an electron discharge tube, comprises one or more tablets of non-vaporizable getter material mounted on a perforated metal support in such a way as to leave two major surfaces of the or each tablet exposed. Several tablets may be supported on one or both faces of a sheet of gauze or expanded metal 5, with apertures 2a, 2b, 2c.
