[Also in Division B8] An assembly including a container for introducing a washing agent which is in solid form, e.g. tablets or powder, or in liquid form, into washing liquid, in a dishwashing machine comprises a bimetallic strip connected with a retaining device arranged on the container or on a means for closing this container, that when the washing liquid reaches a predetermined temperature this strip releases this device or means and thereby permits the container to be emptied into the interior of the dishwashing machine. A container 1 Fig. 1., is fixed to a carrier 3, connected to a bimetallic strip 4 having an opening 6 engaging a projection 7 of the cover 2 of the container. When the temperature in the machine reaches a predertermined value the bimetallic strip 4 moves outwardly, as indicated by the broken lines in Fig. 1, and out of engagement with projection 7, so that the cover 2 is released and the contents of the container 1 are discharged into the machine. In an alternative embodiment a container 9 Fig. 2 is pivotally mounted at 11 on a carrier 10. A bimetallic strip 12 is fixed to the carrier 10 and at its top and engages behind a stop 14 on the container 9. When the machine temperature rises to a predetermined value the strip 12 moves out of engagement with stop 14 and so allows the container 9 to swing downwardly and discharge its contents into the machine.
