Rotary toothbrush 8 and shield 9 are separately detachably mounted on handle 1 which houses electric motor 4. The motor shaft 6 carries curved shield 7 arranged to throw off any liquid, running down the interior of the shield 9, to drain holes 10. Compartment 2 may contain a battery.
