Abstract
960,932. Vices. JOHN HARPER & CO. Ltd., and G. KIBBLE. Dec. 21, 1962 [Jan. 16, 1962], No. 1626/62. Heading B3B. [Also in Divisions B1 E2 and F2] A small domestic machine or device such as a food mincer, chopper, mixer, grinder, vice or anvil, which requires to be held firmly on a working surface whilst being used comprises in combination a separate base part 10 having a suction pad 11 on its underside and associated means for deforming the pad to create a partial vacuum so as to hold the base part in position by atmospheric pressure and an upper part 15 which is adapted to be mounted and secured upon the base part in correct location, the base part having an upstanding rib 13 with undercut side faces and the upper part being formed in its underside with a recess 17 to secure the rib and housing in a side wall which confronts one of the undercut faces, a screw 19 for co-operation with the said side face so as to retain the upper part in correct location on and against accidental removal from the base. A pin 18 in the recess engages the other side face.
