[Also in Division F4] A control device for operating pivoted ventilators comprises an operating cable 6 slidably mounted in a rigid conduit 20 attached to the fixed frame 2 of the ventilator, one end of the cable 6 being provided with means 38 for sliding the cable relative to the conduit, and the other end being secured in a blind hole 14 in a fitting 12 after it has passed through a hole 9 in the pivoted frame 1. The fitting 12 is attached to the outside of the flange 3 of the frame 1 by screws 17, or a part of the fitting 12 may pass through the flange and be threaded to receive a nut. The cable 6 passes through a guide 18 and is connected to the end of a channel 34 cut in an operating rod 19 slidable in the conduit 20. The device may be used with a number of ventilators as shown in Fig. 1. The channel 34 is of a length to accommodate the whole of the cable 6 when the ventilator is in the closed position.
