Abstract
Compounds of the formula: <FORM:0959876/C2/1> wherein R is selected from hydrocarbon carboxylic acid acyl of from two to twelve carbon atoms, inclusive; halo-, nitro-, hydroxy-, amino-, cyano-, thiocyano-, and lower alkoxy substituted hydrocarbon carboxylic acid acyl of from two to twelve carbon atoms, inclusive; and lower-alkoxycarbonyl; and wherein R1 is selected from hydrogen, hydrocarbon carboxylic acid acyl of from two to twelve carbon atoms, inclusive; halo-, nitro-, hydroxy-, amino-, cyano-, thiocyano-, and lower alkoxy-substituted hydrocarbon carboxylic acid acyl of from two to twelve carbon atoms, inclusive; and lower-alkoxycarbonyl, may be made by reacting actinospectacin with an appropriate acylating agent. The Specification refers to many compounds of the above formula of which the following are typical: N,N1-diacetyl, N,N1,O triacetyl, and N,N1,O-triethoxycarbonyl actinospectacin. N,N1-diacylactinamines may be prepared by subjecting an N,N1-diacyl or N,N1,O-triacylactinospectacin to acid hydrolysis, the term "actinamine" being used to denote 1,3-deoxy-1, 3-bis (methylamino) myoinositol. Specification 959,675 is referred to.
