957,249. Two-way transmission. NORTHERN ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. June 14, 1962, No. 22886/62. Heading H4R. In a system having go and return channels 1, 2, Fig. 1, the condition of each channel is controlled by a rectifier bridge 11, 12 which receives square-wave pulses from a high-frequency oscillator 20<SP>1</SP>, the two bridges being oppositely-biased by way of potentiometers 23, 24 and 25, 26 so as to be effectively operative in turn. In Fig. 2, two such pairs of rectifier bridges are employed, disposed on either side of amplifiers 49, 50. In these embodiments, the rectifier bridges shunt the respective one-way channels, but in other embodiments, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), they are in series with one wire of each channel.
