956,138. Moulding tunnel linings in situ. C. PARRY. Oct. 21, 1960 [July 22, 1959], No. 25222/59. Headings E1F and E1S. A method of making a tunnel comprises driving two tunnel sections, 11, 12 intersecting at an angle, and forming a chamber 13 at the point of intersection, the chamber being so shaped and dimensioned that a shuttering unit or lining unit 15 may be rotated from alignment with one section to alignment with the other to permit such units being passed from section to section through the chamber. When the section 11 has been given a lining 14 using shuttering units, the units one at a time are moved into the chamber, rotated on a turntable, and moved into the section 12 to mould the lining 17. The chamber is given a lining 16 or filled with concrete to the lines 18.
