955,361. Batteries. VARTA A.G. Jan. 24, 1962 [Jan. 25, 1961], No. 2696/62. Heading H1B. A sintered or pressed fuel cell electrode 4, e.g. of nickel, is provided with a thermoplastic resin edging 1 which acts as a sealing gasket. The edging is applied either by injection moulding or by pressing powdered resin around the edge of the electrode by a press-die and heating it until the resin penetratates the pores of the electrode. Polyethylene, polypropylene or polyvinyl chloride may be used as the resin.
