A hanger for supporting casing 36 comprises a casing head 32, a support plate 24 mounted in the head, an annular body 20 of resilient deformable material supported by the plate, jaws 22 bonded to the interior of the body, a thrust ring 18 supported by the body, a slip bowl 10 supported by the ring, and slips 14 engageable with the casing. The weight of the casing taken by the slips compresses the body to press the jaws against the casing to assist in supporting the casing.
