A machine for feeding blind rivets comprises a rivet guiding member containing a slot to receive rivet shanks and a reciprocable rivet aligning member so disposed in relation to the guiding member that rivets supplied thereto will pass to the slot in the rivet guiding member. Rivets placed on a tray 1 are passed by a rotating regulating cylinder 2 to an inclined shoot 11 and three convergent shoots 12 to a rivet aligning member 13 which has in its upper surface three troughs 14 of triangular crosssection. In each trough 14 is a slot 15 which extends through the depth of the member and is slightly greater in width than the diameter of the rivet mandrel. Such slot is enlarged at intervals by holes 16 which are slightly larger in diameter than the rivet head. Below the member 13 is a rivet guiding member 20 which has three shallow grooves in its surface, one under each of the slots 15. A slot 22 extends through the depth of the guiding member 20 and has a width slightly greater than the diameter of the rivet mandrels. An enlarged part 23 of each slot enables mandrels which have become disengaged from their rivets to fall clear. The rivet aligning member 13 is reciprocated by a connecting rod 19 eccentrically mounted on a gear-wheel 8 which also drives the regulating cylinder 2 through a ratchet device 4, 5. The slots 22 converge into a single slot 27 which leads to a rivet magazine 28 comprising a rotatable cylinder 29 having a plurality of slots in its surface adapted to receive the mandrels of rivets.
