Abstract

954,345. Cups &c. SPRUYT & CO. N.V. Nov. 20, 1962, No. 43903/62. Heading A4A. In a drinking &c. cup intended to be used once only and comprising an inner impermeable lining 4 supported in an outer casing 1 by connection to the rim of the casing by folding thereover, the casing is permeable by the liquid &c. contained in the cup so that unhygienic re-use of the cups after removal of the lining is prevented. The lining is of soft plastic connected to a waxed paper casing at 5 by bending over the outwardly turned rim 3, the base 2 of the casing being apertured at 6. When liquid is poured into the cup the lining presses against the edge of the aperture sealing off an insulating layer of air between the casing and the lining. In modifications, apertures are formed at the periphery of the base or in the walls, the base and/or side walls are made of paper through which the liquid will pass, or in a container for, e.g. ice-cream, the casing is made without a base.
