954,282. Seaming non-metallic sheet material. REHAU-PLASTIKS GESELLSCHAFT MIT BESCHRANKTER HAFTUNG. Feb. 13, 1963 [Dec. 17, 1962], No. 5883/63. Heading B5K. In a method of applying a plastic ornamental strip 1 with a metallized surface 2 to a plastic or plastic containing base, the ends of the strip are obliquely undercut as at 3 on the surface remote from the metallized surface 2 whereafter the strip is welded to said base by high-frequency welding, the end or ends being bent over and pressed against the base surface during the welding operation. The strip is preferably supported in an electrode adapted to receive it and having at one or each end an arcuate surface defining the final contour of the end of the strip when secured on the base surface.
