Abstract

Pharmaceutical anti-inflammatory compositions comprise a carrier and substantially chemically pure N-(3-trifluoromethylphenyl) anthranilic acid and/or a non-toxic salt thereof e.g. an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, ammonium or substituted ammonium (e.g. choline, 2 - hydroxyethylammonium, bis- or tris (2-hydroxyethylammonium) salt. The compositions may be in forms suitable for oral and parenteral administration, solid unit dosage forms preferably comprising from 25 to 500 mg. of the active material. Other anti-inflammatory agents e.g. prednisone, prednisolone, cortisone, hydrocortisone and 9- and 12-halo corticosteroids may also be included in the compositions.
