Abstract

The invention comprises 1-piperonyl-2-hydrazinopropane and acid addition salts thereof, and the preparation thereof by either catalytically reducing the corresponding piperonyl acetone hydrazone or reacting a 1-piperonyl-2-halopropane with hydrazine. 1-Piperony-2-halopropanes are prepared by reacting 1-piperonyl-2-hyroxy-propane with a thiony halide.
