950,169. Smokers' ashtrays. LEE CHE LEUNG. Aug. 30, 1962, No. 33351/62. Heading A2M. An ashtray comprises a container 1 formed at. the top with a rectangular opening 3 beneath which a rotary member 4 is mounted on an axis 5, the rotary member being formed with circular end-pieces 10 bounding a number of sector-shaped cavities 11, any one of which may be brought into register with the opening 3 by rotation of a knob 6. The opening 3 is formed in a pressing 2 and has downturned edges 16 to form a close fit with the member 4. The pressing 2 may be removed by depression of plungers 18, and a screw 17 is provided in the base of the container 1 for emptying and cleaning purposes. Removable cylindrical holders 20 are provided for extinguishing lighted cigarettes, the holders 20 being retained in position by the plungers 18.
