Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of formula: <FORM:0948221/C2/1> where R1 and R2 are C1-4 alkyl or alkoxy, R3 is C1-4 alkyl, R4 is hydrogen, unsubstituted or substituted aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbyl or -OR5, R5 being unsubstituted aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbyl, and X and Y are oxygen or sulphur (same or different). They may be prepared by condensing N-alkyl-carbamic or -thiocarbamic acid esters or N-alkyl-carboxylic or -thiocarboxylic amides with formaldehyde and dialkyl thiolor thionothiol-phosphoric, -phosphonic or -phosphinic acids. An organic solvent may be used and temperatures of 40-50 DEG C. are desirable. Those compounds in which Y is oxygen may be obtained by the condensation of N-methylol amides or urethane with the appropriate phosphorus thioacids, generally in an organic solvent and preferably with a dehydration catalyst such as a carbodiimide, or by reacting N-chloromethyl amides or urethanes with phosphorus thio acids in the presence of an acid binding agent or with salts of the acids, preferably in a solvent and at 0-100 DEG C. The products are pesticides.ALSO:Pesticidal compositions comprise, along with solid or liquid carriers, an organophosphorus compound of formula <FORM:0948221/A5-A6/1> where R1 and R2 are C1-4 alkyl or alkoxy, R3 is C1-4 alkyl, R4 is hydrogen, unsubstituted or substituted aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon or -OR5, R5 being unsubstituted aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon and X and Y are each oxygen or sulphur.
