Abstract

In the production of a quantity of like small <PICT:0948200/C3/1> ceramic articles each having at least one metallized face, a prefired ceramic material is formed into a moulding of said articles which are joined together and spaced apart by a thin web of the ceramic material, the moulding is fired and the required faces are coated with a metallizing fluid preferably by means of a roller, sintered to form a sintered metal layer and finally the articles are separated by breaking along the joining web. As shown in Fig. 1, a moulding of like ceramic cubes 1 joined by ceramic webs 2 are metallized and then separated along the webs, or a moulding of tubes 3 joined by webs 4 are similarly metallized, Fig. 2 (not shown).
