Abstract

Formation of surface skin during casting of aluminium-base alloys containing one or more of Sb above 0.1-1%, Bi 0.03-1%, Li 0.03-1%, with or without Mg up to 1%, is prevented by inclusion of Be 0.002-less than 0.01% in the alloys.
