[Also in Division B8] A protective ferrule of plastics material is injection moulded on to the screw-threaded end of a tube 5. The ferrule has end flanges 7, 7a and a central portion 8 with helical ribs 10. One or two of the ribs 10 are extended (as at 11) to facilitate removal of the ferrule by tearing.
