An electronic counter includes a multicathode, cold-cathode indicating tube, each cathode being associated with a solid-state switching triode, so arranged that only one cathode of the indicating tube and its associated triode are conductive at any one time. The triode is preferably a P-N-P-N silicon crystal. Provision is made for transfer. Reference is also made to Specification 946,845.
