[Also in Division A4] An article, such as a decorative hollow glass ball 16 or an artificial flower, is releasably supported by an adapter of resilient plastic having a socket 11 for engagement by a plug or pin element 17 on a supporting member and an arm or arms 12, 13 extending from the socket 11 and engaging in the article 16 to be supported. A gap 19 between the arms 12, 13 is treated in Fig. 2 within the article 16 but may alternatively be located exteriorly. In one embodiment incorporating a single D-like arm the gap is located adjacent the socket 11.
